A Step-by-Step Guide on Forwarding WhatsApp Channel Updates

WhatsApp

In June of this year, WhatsApp introduced a new feature called “Channels,” which drew similarities to Instagram. Initially, this feature was launched in specific regions. However, now, under the ownership of Meta, WhatsApp is rolling out Channels globally, including in India. WhatsApp claims that Channels provide a simple, secure, and private way to receive important updates from both individuals and organizations within the WhatsApp ecosystem.

WhatsApp Channels serve as a one-way broadcasting tool, allowing administrators to send various types of content, including text messages, photos, videos, stickers, and polls. Meta-owned WhatsApp also gives Channel creators the flexibility to customize and personalize their channel information.

Furthermore, users can easily share these channel updates with their contacts, including friends and family. When forwarding these updates, recipients will see a “Forwarded” label and a link to the channel, making it clear that the message originated from elsewhere and wasn’t composed by the sender. If you forward a channel update to someone who doesn’t have Channels yet, they can still view the content in the chat but won’t access the channel directly. If, you want you can also stop following WhatsApp channels or you can remove a WhatsApp Channel.

When forwarding a channel update, you can share it with up to five chats simultaneously. If an update has already been forwarded into a chat, you can forward it to up to five more chats, with a maximum of one group chat. However, if an update has been forwarded numerous times, it can only be forwarded to one chat at a time.

To forward WhatsApp channel updates, follow these steps:

  1. Open WhatsApp and navigate to the Channels section.
  2. Within a WhatsApp Channel, hover over the update you want to forward, then click on the “Forward” option. If you wish to forward multiple updates at once, select the checkbox next to each one.
  3. Click the forward arrow icon to send the update.
  4. Search for or select the individual or group chats to which you want to forward the update.
  5. Finally, click the send button to share the update with your chosen recipients.
