I have been blogging for quite some time and for some reason, the URLs of the posts that I write tend to be longer than usual. Though I tried to shorten many of them, a few still remained lengthier. The real problem arises when I try sharing any of those long URLs on any social networking site or messaging platforms. And the idea of shortening the URLs rescued me in such cases.
There are several sites from where you can shorten the URL of your posts. But I would recommend using the following three online services as they are not marked spam by many of the sites.
The official URL shortening service by the world’s largest search engine doesn’t sound pretty bad, right? I use it the most to share many of my posts online.
The image shared above is the screenshot of the shortened version of the URL of our site using the ‘goo.gl’ online service. By signing in to your Google account, you will get to know the locations from where your links are being accessed and much more.
I like Bit.ly for one reason and that would be its dashboard. One would get detailed information such as the number of clicks and much more on a timely basis. You can access the link here.
However, it is not suggested for affiliating marketers.
This URL online shortening service comes from the family of Hootsuite, a social media company and the tool is very easy to use. All you need to do is just paste the URL and hit on ‘Shrink URL’ as you can see in the screenshot below. You can access the link here.
Out of all the URL-shortening services, the services shared above are my favorite.
