Pokémon Go the most awaited game has created a sensation with its release for iOS and Android Users on July 6, 2016. But, due to its high popularity and high demand a new obstacle has been added to the list: overloaded server. Yes, frequently players are getting messages “Pokémon Go server down,” and they are looking to find out the reason over the internet and expressing frustration and inquiries as to what happened to the game on Twitter as well. So, here we have tried to provide all the possible reasons why Pokémon Go is not loading or what happened to the Pokémon Go servers?
This popular game is already into its third week of release but experiencing a major round of outages around the world. There is no doubt that the server issue is due to an influx of players overwhelming the online service. Most of the players are getting a screen message that servers are overloaded or the app freezes during crucial moments while playing this game. The server load is not the only issue but few players are also complaining about disconnections and other bugs. Adding, to server overload issue a group of hacker called OurMine created another fiasco, as they hit Pokémon Go’s login servers with a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack. The DDoS prevented players from accessing their accounts and logging into the game. The OurMine group has also posted a messaged on their official website: “No one will be able to play this game till Pokémon Go contacts us on our website to teach them how to protect it!”.
Well, there is good news for the Pokémon Go player because a website by Datadog Inc. “www.IsPokemonGoDownOrNot.com”, tracks Pokémon Go’s server availability and login wait time. This website is really useful to track when the Nintendo game’s servers are functioning properly or having issues. This way you would be sure if there is any issue with the server or if it is your network or data problem.
Niantic Labs, is really trying to keep the game online as the server outage not just affect the players, but causing financial loss to the company as well. Because, if server is down players would not be able to buy virtual currency called PokéCoins, which can let players can buy items and upgrades in the game. And, in other words generate revenue for the company.
We, hope Niantic labs will be able to keep the server up and running, so, players can catch the virtual monsters and enjoy this game.
