To unlock your Aadhaar biometric, you have two options: you can either visit an Aadhaar enrollment center or utilize the online Aadhaar portal.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to unlock your Aadhaar biometric data:

Steps:

  1. Begin by accessing the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) by entering the URL “https://uidai.gov.in” in your web browser.
  2. On the UIDAI website’s homepage, locate the “Aadhaar Services” section and click on it to reveal a dropdown menu with various options.
  3. In the dropdown menu, select the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics” option, which will direct you to the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics” page.
  4. On the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics” page, you’ll be asked to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number accurately.
  5. Beneath the Aadhaar number field, a security code will be visible. Enter the characters displayed in the image or the provided text in the security code box.
  6. Click on the “Send OTP” button. Subsequently, you’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
  7. Check your mobile device for the OTP and input it into the designated field on the webpage.
  8. After entering the OTP, click the “Submit” or “Unlock” button to initiate the process of unlocking your biometrics.
  9. If you’ve successfully followed the steps and entered the correct OTP, your Aadhaar biometrics will be unlocked, and you’ll receive a confirmation message on the website.
  10. Additionally, you may receive an SMS on your registered mobile number confirming the successful unlocking of your biometric data.
  11. Your Aadhaar biometrics are now unlocked and ready for use in authentication as required.
