What are more important TikTok Likes or Followers?

How to download TikTok Videos

When talking about success on social media, the number of followers someone has is usually the first thing pointed out. For example, TikTok influencer Loren Gray has 41.3 million followers and is turning her career towards music. She came out with her own single last year. However, followers don’t guarantee views on her content. Followers mean your content will show up on their feed but they don’t have to click on it or interact with it at all if they don’t want to.

Throughout social media, we see that only a percentage of a user’s followers actually interact with their content. Having some followers means new content will be showcased to them but not necessarily viewed. A large number of followers does increase the likelihood content will get viewed but it doesn’t guarantee it. To be successful on TikTok, you don’t just need a following, you need a loyal following. It’s still important to create interesting and trendy content that your followers want to engage with.

If followers meant everything, we wouldn’t see the instant sensations that we do. People become viral sensations overnight. Not a lot of people know them but they still produce content that a lot of people want to see. Creating and riding on trends will increase engagement as well as a solid follower base.

If you become an affiliate, the brand you are working with wants to know that the promotion you run for them will be seen and engaged with. The more users who will see the promotion, the more you will get paid. This is because they will receive more exposure from working with you. Followers and likes will show that you have an audience who regularly consumes and enjoys your content so will view and like your advertisement with a brand. The better all your statistics are, the better position you are in and the better your reputation will be. You want to become a recognisable brand yourself whether people follow you or not.

Simply put followers and likes are both important and can rely on each other. At the end of the day, the purpose of having followers is to get you views and likes. But how do you improve either of these statistics?

1. Create regular content

The more content you put out, the more successful you will be as there are more opportunities for users to stumble upon your account. But don’t push out mediocre videos for the sake of it. There’s no point producing content people won’t enjoy. In fact, it could have the opposite effect and lose you followers and popularity. Instead create a content schedule. This allows you to regularly share content, making you a relevant and quality creator. You know when you need to be producing content and your followers know when to expect videos from you. They will follow you to see these updates and like what you post.

2. Follow trends

If you follow trends, you are creating content you know is already popular with TikTok users. The guesswork of whether users will actually like what you are doing is erased. When creating an online presence anywhere, you want to be searchable. Most people will come across you not from looking for your specific profile but looking for what you do and what type of videos you post. If you produce videos associated with a trending hashtag, when users search that hashtag you will show up. Keep your own personality and style while creating videos that users are searching for.

3. Promote your platform

Building your profile can be a long and exhausting process. You can be producing content without getting much in return. An easy way to aid in this process is to gain followers and likes through promotional websites. Some even do this for free. There are websites that can show you how to get TikTok likes for free and will boost your profile. This doesn’t mean you don’t have to put effort into your account anymore but it gives you a leg up on the way to TikTok success.

Combining likes and followers, you can be successful on TikTok. Thousands if not millions of followers could be coming your way if you put the effort in. With social media, it’s all about staying relevant and on trend. This can be easier said than done in such a fast-paced environment.
