Google Maps gets a new look

Google Maps is the most trusted app that is used for navigation by the people today in the world. But sometimes, it gives you information more than you are really looking for. For instance, why would you need to know about the gas stations if you’re taking the subway?

That being said, the company is bringing a new update to the Google Maps by adding a fresh look to the app. This new look is said to adapt to your ways of traveling. Say if you are taking public transportation, it will highlight route lines and stops. If you are exploring the area more, it will focus more on your points of interest.

Every location type will have individual colors and icons, so it will be very easy for you to find a movie theater or restaurant if you are new to the area.

Liz Hunt, Product Manager, Google Maps said in the official post:

The world is an ever-evolving place. And as it changes, Google Maps changes with it. As roads close, businesses open, or local events happen in your neighborhood, you’ll see it on Google Maps. When you schedule an event using Google Calendar, get a reservation confirmation in Gmail, or add a restaurant to your “Want to Go” list, Google Maps reflects that too. Now, we’re updating Google Maps with a new look that better reflects your world, right now.

This new fresh look update will be arrived over the next few weeks in all the platforms such as Google app or Google Earth or through other means such as standard searches and Google Assistant. Though this is not really going to make a huge difference, it could still be useful for you. Because you can board the right bus, or find a restaurant based on your interest and much more.
