OnePlus announced the company’s latest flagship Smartphone OnePlus 8 Pro along with OnePlus 8 phone in an online launch event. The OnePlus 8 Pro sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED edge-to-edge display, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 SoC with X55 5G modem that supports both NSA and SA 5G, up to 12GB of RAM, and runs Android 10.0 with OxygenOS 10.

The phone also has the alert slider, glass back with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an in-display fingerprint sensor. This phone comes with 4510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T fast charging that can charge the phone up to 50% in just 23 minutes and is also the first OnePlus phone with support for Warp Charge 30 Wireless fast charging that can charge from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. The phone also supports wireless reverse charging to charge other devices.

The OnePlus 8 Pro phone has quad rear camera 48MP rear camera with Sony IMX689 sensor and OIS, a 48MP 120° ultra-wide angle camera with 3cm macro mode, 8MP 3X Telephoto Camera that also supports 30x digital zoom, OIS and a 5MP mono sensor. On the front side it has 16MP in-screen camera with Sony IMX471 sensor. It has dedicated MEMC chip that transforms standard videos at 24fps up to 120 fps.

The company says that it is ideal for watching sports and action-packed content since MEMC reduces motion blur, stuttering, and ghosting for unmatched clarity.  It has HDR 10+ support, tuned color accuracy rating of JNCD around 0.4.

The mobile sports a 6.78-inch (3168 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD+ 120Hz 19.8:9 Fluid AMOLED display with up 1,300 nits brightness, 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection.


It is powered by 2.84GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 650 GPU and runs Android 10 with OxygenOS 10.0.


The device comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB (UFS 3.0) storage / 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB (UFS 3.0) storage.


The phone features quad rear camera 48MP rear camera with Sony IMX689 sensor, f/1.78 aperture, LED Flash, 0.8μm pixel size, OIS + EIS Hybrid stabilization, Dual Native ISO,  48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 119.7° ultra-wide lens and f/2.2 aperture, 8MP telephoto sensor with f/2.44 aperture, 3x hybrid zoom and 30x Digital Zoom, OIS, 5MP color filter camera with f/2.4 aperture, 4K video at 60 fps, 720p slow motion at 480fps, 1080p slow motion at 240fps.

On the front side it has 16MP front-facing camera with Sony IMX471 sensor, f/2.45 aperture, EIS.

The device supports 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1+L5 Dual Band) + GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. It has Dual SIM (nano + nano), USB Type-C audio, Dual Stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Audio 3D, Audio Zoom, OZO Audio. It is Water-resistant (IP68) and has In-display fingerprint sensor.

Battery and Dimensions

The mobile packs 4510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T Fast Charging (5V/6A), 30W Wireless fast charging, and wireless reverse charging. The phone has a size measurement of : 165.3×74.35×8.5 mm and weight is 199g.

Pricing and Availability

The OnePlus 8 Pro is priced at $899 (Rs. 68,290 approx.) for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version. While it costs $999 (Rs. 75,885 approx) for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version. The phone will be available in Europe and UK from April 21st starting at £799 (Rs. 76,580 approx.) / €899 (Rs. 74,880 approx.) with pre-orders starting today. The OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger costs $69.95 (Rs. 5,310 approx.).

The OnePlus 8 Pro phone comes in Onyx Black (gloss-finish glass), Glacial Green (matte glass) and Ultramarine Blue (gloss-finish glass) colors and it will be available in India this summer on but did not reveal pricing.
