  • Tap on the three vertical dots on the top
  • Tap on Settings
  • Tap on the option Data and storage usage
  • Now, under the Call Settings look for the option Low data usage tap on the toggle button to turn it on

How to reduce data consumption in WhatsApp used by photos and videos

  • Open WhatsApp
  • Tap on the three vertical dots on the top
  • Tap on Settings
  • Tap on the option Data and storage usage
  • Look for option when using mobile data and tap on it
  • Then uncheck all the boxes Photos, Audio, Videos and documents and tap OK.

How to reduce data consumption by disabling videos Backup in WhatsApp

Since, most of the videos and photos are related to Coronavirus nowadays, you might want to disable the backup option for videos, while chat can still be backed up. Follow the below steps to do it.

  • Open WhatsApp
  • Tap on the three vertical dots on the top
  • Tap on Settings
  • Tap on Chats
  • Tap on Chat Backup
  • Now, tap on include videos toggle button to turn it off, if it is on.
