Google had launched a parental control software app known as Google Family link for parents. Now, in case you don’t want to go through those tricky setup and just want to put restriction on app or unauthorized purchase on Google Play Store. How to setup Parental controls on Google Play Store
1. First, open the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone
2. Tap on the menu bar from the top right
3. Go to Setting
4. Look for and Tap to turn on Parental controls
5. You will be asked to set up a PIN code, so your kids won’t be able to turn it off.
As, Google Play store does not restrict any apps, games, films and music by default. You will have to set the content restriction as per your needs.
How to setup content restriction on Google Play Store
1. Tap on Apps & games option
2. Choose the age rating that you want to see in the Play Store and tap on save button.
3. You need to repeat the same steps for Films and Music to restrict them as well.
Once, done your child will be able to see only those app & games, music, films that pass the filter criteria based on your restriction. In fact, even if they search it on Google Play Store they can’t install it as it will ask for PIN set up by you.
How to prevent unauthorized purchases on Play Store
1. First, open the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone
2. Tap on the menu bar from the top right
3. Go to Setting
4. Scroll down and look for tap on ‘Require authentication for purchases’
5. Select the option ‘For all purchases through Google Play on this device’.
6. Now, verify your account password to save changes.
Once, done your kid won’t be able to make any in-app purchase or random purchase from Google Play Store.
