Xiaomi Redmi Y2 with 5.99-inch 18:9 display, dual rear cameras and Android 8.1 launched in India starting at Rs. 9999

Xiaomi launched the company’s latest selfie-focused Xiaomi Redmi Y2 smartphone in India. It sports a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 3GB RAM and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9 on top. It has fingerprint sensor on the back of phone also comes with face unlock feature.

It has dual rear camera the primary is 12 MP with LED flash, secondary is 5 MP camera to capture depth information for AI portrait shots. On the front side it has 16 MP camera with soft LED flash that supports AI beauty feature, Auto HDR and uses pixel binning technology.

It is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9.

The device comes in two variants 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The memory can be expanded up to 256GB using microSD card.

Camera

It has dual rear camera, the primary is 12MP rear camera with LED Flash, 1.25μm pixel size, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, secondary 5MP camera.

On the front side it has 16MP front-facing camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 78.8-degree wide-angle lens.

The mobile supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS. It has dedicated Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD). It also comes with Fingerprint sensor, Infrared sensor and Face unlock feature.

The mobile packs 3080mAh (typical) / 3000mAh (minimum) battery. It has a size measurement of 160.73 × 77.26 × 8.1mm and weight is 170g.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version, and it costs Rs. 12,999 for  the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version. It will be available in Elegant Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey colors exclusively from Amazon.in as well as Mi Home  store and Mi website starting from June 12th.
