Google is serious about improving the performances of its apps in the Smartphones. Today Google announced that it is adding 20 more languages including Korean and Chinese for Gboard Android users. The company had introduced a brand new keyboard, Gboard for the iPhone users in 2016. That helped users to perform search queries in a new manner. In fact, last year they had updated the Gboard support for additional 40 languages.

Now, since they have added the support for 20 new languages including Chinese and Korean the total number of languages that is being supported Gboard has reached over 300, which covers 74% of the world’s population. There was a request to add Chinese and Korean language in the Gboard app by the user. Since, both these countries are already the largest Android market there is no surprise the update has been provided for Android user although the app already support these languages on iOS for some time. But, it seems like Google is pretty late in rolling out the update as with Swype offering Chinese and Korean already since 2012.

In the app, you will find a new button using which you can carry out a quick search in a tap. In addition to providing the traditional search results, the app also lists out the gifs, emojis and other media in its search results. After you find your desired search result, you will also be able to copy and paste it in the app you were using it.

Along with Chinese and Korean the other languages supports the other lesser-known languages support that has been added in the Gboard app are like Manx and Maori, are represented in the keyboard. Two brother Abdoulaye and Ibrahima Barry also helped bring the Fulani alphabet, Adlam, to Gboard.

The Gboard app for Android latest update with new languages will be rolled over the next few days through Google Play Store.
