Vivo X20 Plus UD first smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor announced

Last month at the CES 2018 event Vivo had introduced the first smartphone with in-display optical fingerprint feature. Fulfilling the promise, Vivo has announced the X20 Plus UD with in-display fingerprint sensor in China. The Vivo X20 Plus UD is the next version of Vivo X20 Plus and share same specification. But, the new X20 Plus UD has the in-display fingerprint scanner instead of fingerprint sensor on the back.

As, per Vivo the In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology outperforms other authentication solutions available for full-screen smartphones in many aspects. Now, user can unlock the smartphone through one-touch fingerprint scanning directly on the display.

Display

The mobile sports a 6.43-inch Full HD+ 18: 9 Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

Platform

It is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 660 14nm Mobile Platform (Quad 2.2GHz Kryo 260 + Quad 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs) with Adreno 512 GPU. It runs on Funtouch OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat).

Storage

The device comes with 4B RAM and 128GB internal memory. The storage memory can be expanded up to 256GB using microSD card.

Camera

It has a 12MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, OIS and a secondary 5MP camera.
On the front side it has 12MP front-facing camera with soft LED flash, f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity & Sensors

It supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and have 3.5mm audio jack, ES9318 DAC. It also has Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/microSD). It has the In-display Fingerprint sensor.

Battery and Dimensions

The mobile packs 3905mAh (typical) / 3800mAh (minimum) battery with fast charging. It has 165.2 × 80.02 × 7.35mm size measurement and it weight 183.1g.

Price and availability

The Vivo X20 Plus in-display fingerprint sensor version comes is priced at 3,598 yuan (US$ 568 / Rs. 36,090 approx.). It comes in Black color with Gold accents on the frame and around the rear camera. It is currently available in China from February 1st 2018.
