WhatsApp rolled out one of the most anticipated features by mistake. The developers of the app added the “Reply Privately” feature in the beta version of the Windows Phone. Once it is introduced to all, the app will let the users to send a message to any user in a group without letting other members to know about it.

This could be rolled out very soon to all the users along with a set of other features. According to the popular @WABetaInfo twitter handle that keeps track of all the latest and upcoming features of WhatsApp, the Private Reply feature was available for some time before disappearing from the beta version of the app.

WABetaInfo tweeted, “In the new WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone 2.17.344 the private reply feature is disabled. Probably WhatsApp has wrongly enabled it in 2.17.342.” The feature was again added in the v2.17.342 beta update.

They said that the Private Reply feature will be available only in the group chats. It makes sense as all the other conversations are one to one and you will not need to send a message privately there. Once available, the users will be able to access it from the small menu which pops up after pressing and holding on a message.

Other notable features that have been added include a new UI for the Windows users to make calls which is very similar to the one on Android at present and a Quick Switching feature using which the users will be able to switch between voice and video calls very easily without having to break the conversation.

Several other features that are expected to hit the stable version include a picture in picture mode.
