In a bid to take on SnapChat and Instagram’s stories feature, the Twitter introduced the Twitter Moments feature and made it available in India finally on yesterday. It will be available to all the users in the country. This new feature was initially available only to brands, partners and influencers and it appeared as a different tab on user’s profile which helped them to track the breaking news and stories by organizing related topics.
Twitter India said:
While people were able to view Moments from select partners before, they can now make and share Moments and tell their own story.
Beside the moments feature, the micro-blogging site is also working on to help the users to find latest Moments across sports, entertainment and news sections with the new Explore tab.
The company said, “People can simply visit the Explore tab in Twitter or Twitter Lite, where they will discover stories unfolding on Twitter every day. Start scrolling to dive right into the story, with immersive images and autoplaying videos and GIFs. The progress bar at the bottom indicates how much more each Moment has to offer. Like a Moment by hitting the heart button. At the end of a Moment, click the share button to Tweet your thoughts, and send it out to your followers.”
With more than 300 million users around the globe, the site supports 42 languages like Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi and much more.
Lately, the company has been introducing a lot of features to be on par with its competitors. A few days ago, The Twitter Threads was launched officially to let you post multiple tweets in a thread.
