OPPO announced the company’s latest mid-range smartphone, OPPO A79 in the ‘A-Series’ in China. The mobile has 6-inch full HD+ 18:9 full-screen AMOLED display with 86% screen-to-body ratio besides sporting a 16-MP front camera. The rest of the specifications are same as in the OPPO F5 smartphone. The mobile also comes with a face unlock feature.
When compared to F5, the A79 has a slightly lesser capacity battery at 3000 mAh. But the good thing about it is that the battery in A79 supports VOOC flash charge fast charging technology which is guaranteeing around 2 hours of talk time in just 5 minutes of charging.

OPPO A79 Specifications
The smartphone sports a 6-inch 18:9 FHD+ full screen AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display at a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
It is powered by 2.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor with 800MHz ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU and runs on ColorOS 3.2 which is based on Android 7.1 (Nougat) out of the box.
The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage that can be expanded to 256 GB using the microSD card.
It has 16MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture and 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The device is equipped with fingerprint sensor on board besides supporting 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and Dual SIM connectivity features.

The mobile packs 3000mAh built-in battery with VOOC flash charge and weighs 140 grams with 157.3 x 76 x 7.2mm size measurements.
Price and availability
OPPO A79 will be available in Blue, Black and Champagne Gold colors at a price of 2399 yuan (US$ 364 / Rs. 23,500 approx.) and is currently available for order in China.
