Microsoft introduced the company’s latest Surface gadget, Microsoft Surface Book 2. The company has added improvements in terms of battery life, connectivity, internals, and design. The Surface Book 2 comes in two sizes, 13.5-inch and 15-inch.

While the smaller 13.5-inch Surface Book 2 sports a 3000 x 2000 display, the 15.6-inch variant packs a 3240 x 2160 display.

Both the variants are compatible with Surface Dial and Surface Pen in addition to the support for the touchscreen. Both the gadgets are powered by new 8th generation Intel ‘Coffee Lake processors as well as the 7th generation Intel ‘Kaby Lake processors. The Core i5-7300U available in the 13.5-inch variant is Kaby Lake in addition to the latest Core i7-8650U on the 13.5-inch model. On the other hand, the i7 is the only available option on the 15-inch variant.

The graphics specifications include Intel HD Graphics 620 (Kaby Lake), Intel UHD Graphics 620 (Coffee Lake), or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (2GB) for the 13.5-inch variant. The 15-inch model comes with Intel UHD Graphics 620 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB).

The storage also comes as a choice for both the latest Surface Book 2 models. The storage space options available are 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB with 8 GB or 16 GB 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory.

There is no Thunderbolt support, but the latest gadgets come with a proprietary Surface connector, headphone jack, SD slot, one USB-C port, and two USB-A 3.0 ports.

According to the company, the newest Surface Book 2 devices come with an upgraded battery life with 17 hours of playback in the keyboard mode and 5 hours in tablet mode.

The devices will also be useful for great gaming and mixed windows reality experiences.

Price and Availability of Surface Book 2

The 13.5-inch model is priced at $1499 and the 15-inch model will be available at $2499. The pre-orders will begin by November 9 and shipping will begin on November 16.
