Xiaomi announced the company’s latest phablet, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 at an event in China. It is the successor of the Mi Max phablet which was launched year. Xiaomi has made improvements in camera by integrating Sony IMX386 sensor in the rear camera. Let us have a detailed look at its specifications.

Display

The smartphone sports a 6.44-inch full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 72 % NTSC color gamut, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 450 nits brightness.

Platform

It is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on MIUI 8 which is based on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) out of the box.

Storage

The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage that can be expanded again using microSD card.

Camera

It has 12-megapixel primary camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, Sony IMX386 sensor, 1.25μm pixel size and 5-megapixel front camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity and Sensors

The mobile is equipped with fingerprint and infrared sensors besides supporting 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C and Hybrid Dual SIM (micro+nano/microSD) connectivity features.

Battery and other details

The smartphone packs a 5300mAh (typical) / 5200mAh (minimum) battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology and weighs 211 grams with 174.1×88.7×7.6mm size measurements.

Price and Availability

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will be available in Golden color at a price of 1699 yuan (US$ 247 / Rs.15949 approx.) and 1999 yuan (US$ 290 / Rs. 18770 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB Storage version and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage versions respectively. The mobile will go on sale from June 1 in China.
