Honor brand by Huawei announced the company’s latest tab, Honor Play Tab 2 in 8-inch and 9.2-inch variants. While the 8-inch variant has an earpiece to facilitate voice calling, the 9.2-inch version has hands-free calling in the LTE versions.

Display
The tablet comes in two variants in terms of display. While one of them sports an 8-inch IPS display at a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels with 58 % NTSC color gamut, the other sports a 9.6-inch IPS display at a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels with 50 % NTSC color gamut and 16:10 aspect ratio.
Platform
It is powered by 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 with 500MHz Adreno 308 GPU and runs on EMUI 5.1 which is based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box.
Storage
The device comes with 2 GB RAM – 16 GB ROM and 3 GB RAM – 32 GB ROM storage variants. The internal memory can be expanded using microSD card.
Camera
It has 5-megapixel autofocus primary camera and 2-megapixel front camera.
Connectivity
The device supports 4G LTE (with voice calling in 4G version), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS / aGPS and Hybrid Dual SIM (nano+nano/microSD) (in 4G version) connectivity features.
Battery and Dimensions
The tablet packs a 4800 mAh battery. The 8-inch variant weighs 350 grams and has 211.07 x 124.65 x 7.95 mm size measurements and the 9.6-inch variant weighs 460 grams and has 229.8 x 159.8 x 7.95 mm size measurements.
Price and Availability
Honor Play 2 comes in Silver and Gray colors. It will be available at 799 yuan (US$ 116 / Rs. 7520 approx.), 999 yuan (US$ 145 / Rs. 9405 approx.) and 1299 yuan (US$ 188 / Rs. 12,230 approx.) for 2GB + 32GB WiFi, 2GB + 32GB LTE and 3GB + 32GB LTE SKUs of 8-inch variant, respectively.
And it is priced at 999 yuan (US$ 145 / Rs. 9405 approx.), 1299 yuan (US$ 188 / Rs. 12,230 approx.) and 1499 yuan (US$ 217 / Rs. 14,110 approx.) for the 2GB + 32GB WiFi, 2GB + 32GB LTE and 3GB + 32GB LTE SKUs of 9.6-inch variant respectively. You will see these tablets going on sale in China from June 1.
