
Reliance Jio Infocomm had launched 4G services back in December last year for its employees. The company made the services available to everyone on September 5th this year. And today, it has announced a new benchmark. Yes, Reliance Jio attracted 16 million customers within 26 days of its launch.
The company said:
“Jio has achieved this growth faster than any other telecom operator or start up in the world including the likes of Facebook, WhatsApp and Skype.”

During the launch, Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman, RIL , had said that there were nearly 15 lakh trial users. The service boasts a Welcome offer using which the new users would get free Video, Voice, Data and a collection of Jio applications and content till December 31, 2016. The company’s services is currently spread across 18000 towns and cities, and more than 2 lakh villages. It is aiming to cover 90 % of the India’s population by 2017.
