N in Android N stands for Nougat. Yes, Android Nougat is the name of the latest version of Android Operating System. The company had announced at its Google I/O conference that the users could submit their suggestions for the name online.
Android N was first introduced back in March and it is currently in the second stage of beta. The users from Kerala, India have been campaigning for the Android N to be named as Neyappam which is a traditional Kerala snack made of ghee, jaggery and rice.
Android N comes with new features such as notifications enhancements, multi-window support, Data Saver, Background Optimizations and much more.
