Google enables HTTPS connection for all Blogspot sites

Google Chrome to mark HTTP sites as Not Secure

Google made it official. HTTPS connection is now the default connection for all of the sites on its Blogspot domain. The company enabled the HTTPS connections back in September for the first time.

When the HTTPS connections was introduced in September, users were given an option to either activate it or to continue using the normal HTTP connection. However, the encrypted HTTPS connections are available by default now.

For those of you who have enabled the custom domains, you won’t be able to avail this service.

Anyways, Blogger will still provide both the HTTP and HTTPS access as many widgets and the blogspot templates may not work as expected on HTTPS. So, if you are looking forward to switch to HTTPS, you will have to first test whether all the widgets are working properly or not.

On the other hand, its rival WordPress has already been providing the HTTPS connection feature since 2014. The platform also started supporting the connections of the custom domains as well.
