How to remove your number from Truecaller?

Every time when you receive a call from an unknown number, your detective mind directs you to open the Truecaller app in your Smartphone to find the person. The same applies for you as well. When you call a person who haven’t saved your number, they would definitely find your details out through the Truecaller app. What if you don’t want others to find your details through Truecaller? There’s a way out. Here in this post, I will tell you on how to remove your number from Truecaller?

Deactivate your Account before you Unlist your number

You will have to deactivate your account first in order to unlist your number from the Truecaller database. You cannot use Truecaller and unlist your number at the same time.

To deactivate your account in iPhone

Open the Truecaller app > Select the gear icon that is located in upper right corner > Tap About TrueCaller > Select Deactivate account after scrolling down

To deactivate your account in Android

Open the Truecaller app > Open the Settings by tapping the profile icon in the upper left corner > Tap About > Tap Deactivate Account

To deactivate your account in Windows

Open the Truecaller app > Open the Settings by tapping the three dots in the bottom right corner > Tap Help > Tap Deactivate account

After deactivating your account in Truecaller, you can carry on to the next step of the process.

Unlist your Number

Open www.truecaller.com/unlist

Enter your phone number followed by choosing a reason to unlist your number and entering the captcha verification code.

That’s it. The process to unlist your number is now initiated.

According to Truecaller, it takes around 24 hours for the changes to get reflected. But, there are also chances for your number to pop-up back in the database when a new person who has the Truecaller app installed in his Smartphone saves your number. Therefore, you will have to keep a tab on Truecaller now and then to know whether your number has been added again.
