Basically, the radiation level is the least known piece of information that user wants to know, before buying any smartphone. But you should know it, as every smartphone is basically a radio frequency transmitting device. And, the radiation emitted by your smartphone might impact health overtime.
So, it is very much important for you to know the SAR level of your smartphone. You need to make sure how much radiation your smartphone emits and either SAR level is within permissible limit.
How to check the radiation level of your smartphone known
1. Open the ‘Dialer’
2. Type ‘*#07#’ from the keypad
3. Tap the ‘Dial’ button
A new pop up window will appear with all the required information related to legal notices, license, warranty, regulatory and RF Exposure.
The radiation level is determined by Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of smartphones. The SAR is recorded when smartphone is held against the head (called Head SAR), and when it is operated at a separation distance of 1.5cm from the body (called body SAR). As, per Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for radiation levels the Permissible limit in India as per DoT: 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue.
