Honor Play launched in India with 6.3-inch Full HD+ display and AI dual rear cameras starting at Rs. 19999

Huawei’s Honor brand launched the gaming-centric Honor Play smartphone in India as promised. It sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ 19:5:9 display with a notch and an 89% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Kirin 970 10nm processor with 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.2. It has NPU as well as GPU Turbo graphics processing acceleration technology that increases graphics processing efficiency of mobile phones for faster and smoother mobile experience, especially for mobile games. It has a metal back and a Fingerprint sensor on the back of phone.

It has AI dual rear cameras the primary is 16 MP camera with AI scene recognition that can detect over 500 scenes, the secondary is a 2 MP camera for portrait shots. On the front side it has 16 MP camera that uses pixel binning technology, combining the information from four pixels to create one large 2.0µm pixel.

It is powered by Octa-Core Huawei Kirin 970 (4 x 2.4 GHz A73+ 4 x 1.8 GHz A53) 10nm processor with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU,  i7 co-processor, NPU, GPU Turbo and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.2.

The device comes with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage, the storage memory can be expanded up to 256GB using microSD card.

Camera

It has AI dual rear cameras, the primary is 16MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, CAF, secondary 2MP rear camera with f/2.4 aperture.

On the front side it has 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity and Sensors

The device supports Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C. It has 3.5mm audio jack, 7.1-channel Histen audio and Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD). It also has Fingerprint sensor on the back of phone.

Battery and Dimensions

The mobile packs 3750mAh (typical) battery with fast charging, it has a size measurement of 157.91×74.27×7.84mm and weight is 176g.

Price and availability

The Honor Play smartphone is getting launch with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version in India. The price has not been revealed yet, but it was launch in China for 2399 yuan (US$ 354 / Rs. 24,360 approx.).exclusively on on August 6th

The Honor Play comes is priced at Rs. 19,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and it costs Rs. 23,999 the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version. It is available in Midnight Black and Navy Blue colors and will go on sale exclusively on Amazon.in and Honor official store starting from 4PM today, August 6th.
