Netflix has broken the record of HBO for the first time in 17 years as the most nominated network at the Emmy Awards.
The nominations were released a few hours ago and it was not surprising to see the Netflix with 112 Nominations. HBO is right behind with 108 nominations. Nominations include Best Drama nominations for the Stranger Things and The Crown in addition to Best Comedy nods for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and GLOW.
The list doesn’t just end here. Other Netflix show have also got a lot of love in the nominations. Jordan Crook has been nominated for his work as an actor and director on Ozark. At the same time, USS Callister episode of Black Mirror was nominated for the Best Telivision movie.
Other streaming services such as Hulu are also in the game with 27 nominations. The HandMaid’s Tale on Hulu is up for nominations this year as well. It is one of the most nominated shows with 20 nominations in the past were just behind the Westworld‘s 21 and Game of Thrones’ 22.
On the other hand, the Amazon’s shows have received 22 nominations including a Best comedy for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The winners will be announced in a ceremony hosted by Michael Che and Colin Host on September 17.
