Microsoft acquired SwiftKey, a keyboard app that is available on both iOS and Android back in the year of 2016 for $250 million. Though there are devoted fans for the native keyboards such as Gboard on Android and the iOS keyboard, the SwiftKey still has a large number of user base across the world. Frankly speaking, I am also a fan of the SwiftKey keyboard on Android.
The good news now is that the SwiftKey introduced stickers in its latest update. This is clearly one of the biggest updates since the acquisition of Swiftkey by the Microsoft. With this update, you will obtain a good number of sticker packs. While some of them can be edited, the others are exclusive to Microsoft.
A new toolbar has also been added in which you will find the new stickers icon to add your favorite stickers. This new toolbar is an indication that more features are on the way.
Chris Wolfe, Principal Product Manager at SwiftKey said:
We remain committed to making regular typing as fast and easy as possible. Today’s release of Toolbar, Stickers and Collections, as well as the announcement of Location and Calendar, also shows our ambition to improve users’ experience of rich media. With the support of Microsoft, you can expect to see more innovations in both regular and rich media typing coming soon.
