As, promised Xiaomi has launched the company latest smartphone Redmi Note 5 in the ‘Redmi Note’ series in India. It sports a 5.99-inch FHD full-screen + 18:9 full-screen display and powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 4GB of RAM. It runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9.2 on top and has a fingerprint sensor on the back.
If, you will take a look at the specifications and features these are almost same as Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus that was launched last year in December at an event in China.

The mobile sports a 5.99-inch (2160 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display with 450 nits Brightness, 84% NTSC Color Gamut, 1000: 1 Contrast Ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection

It is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on MIUI9 which is based on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat).
Storage
The device comes in two variants one is 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and other is 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The storage memory can expanded up to 128GB using the microSD card.
Camera
It has 12MP rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF. On, the front side it has 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity and Sensors
The device is equipped with Infrared sensor besides supporting 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS and has Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD) connectivity features.
Battery and Dimensions
The mobile packs 4000mAh (typical) / 3900mAh (minimum) battery and weighs 180 gm with 158.5 x 75.45 x 8.05mm size measurement.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs. 9999 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version. The variants comes in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue colors and is exclusively available from Flipkart as well as Mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting from 22nd February.
