Facebook is one of the places where we choose to virtually hangout with our friends. May it be a status updates or a photo that you uploaded recently, people still cant get enough even if they spend their entire time on the social networking site. However, over the course of time, the Facebook has been flooded with inappropriate content, comments besides the posts related to negativity.

That’s why, we all know that Mark Zuckerberg himself has made it as his New Year resolution for 2018 to make the site cleaner than ever before. In this latest development, the company is said to be testing a downvote button on a few set of public Page posts. The main agenda behind the introduction of this new button is to allow the people to signal the Facebook that a comment is misleading, uncivil and inappropriate.

The social networking site has also confirmed the news. The statement from the company says,

We are not testing a dislike button. We are exploring a feature for people to give us feedback about comments on public page posts. This is running for a small set of people in the U.S. only.

You can have a glance at the downvote button here below.

The Facebook also says that the results of this downvote button will not be visible to the users. But instead, it will be visible only to company. This feature is currently not available to everyone as it is still being tested with around 5 % of the Android users.

Note: You should also not confuse this new button with the popular dislike button that is available on other platforms such as YouTube.
