Because it fixes the very important security vulnerability which will let anyone to login to your Mac gadget without any password.
To install the update, you will have to launch the Mac App Store and go to “Updates” tab. The most exciting thing about this update is that its release notes goes like “install this update as soon as possible”. The company has been working for the past few days to fix this issue as early as possible. But the Apple should have taken the necessary measures to avoid this embarrassment in the first place.
One can access this bug very easily by going to preferences and then entering any of the panels which has a lock in the lower left-hand corner. In general, you will be prompted to enter the username and password to proceed further. But, instead of following the regular process, you can just enter the username as “root” and say “TADA” in your mind, you will see that you have proceeded to the next step.
Apple announced the statement mentioned below on how it has addressed the issue:
Security is a top priority for every Apple product, and regrettably we stumbled with this release of macOS.
