Apparently, it is not a good time for the makers of the prestigious TV series, Game of Thrones. The HBO is once again under the cyber attack. Reports are emerging that the episodes of the popular shows which stream on the HBO have been hacked and that includes the rest of the episodes of the Game of Thrones. Thanks to the popularity of the show, “HBO hacked Game of Thrones” is currently trending in social media and search engines.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the HBOHo stated that a large amount of data was stolen when the hackers broke into their system.
The report says:
HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information. We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cyber security firms.
Hackers have claimed that around 1.5 TB of data was stolen. Anyways, the HBO does not have any comment on it as of now. At the moment, only a written material of the Game of Thrones and one of the next episodes of Ballers and Room 104 have been shared online.
HBO Chairman and CEO, Richard Pepler sent an email to the employees of the company:
As most of you have probably heard by now, there has been a cyber incident directed at the company which has resulted in some stolen proprietary information, including some of our programming.
In the past, the HBO has been cyber attack when the 5th season of the Game of Thrones was being aired and it was followed by the leakage of the first four episodes of the show online.
