If you are facing issues with battery on draining in your Samsung Smartphone, have a check on whether you have installed the latest update of Oculus app. Because, the latest update is reportedly causing battery drain in Smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Users across the world are sharing their concerns both in Reddit and Oculus forums. The users have also reported that they were able to fix the issue by uninstalling the app.
According to the uses, the app is draining after installing it in the Smartphone as it continues to run in background. Besides that, it is also putting strain in the CPU of the Smartphone. Around 1 percent of the battery was getting drained for every thirty seconds. There were also complaints that the Smartphones were not getting charged to the maximum even after leaving it on charge for one whole night. For those of you who are not aware of the Oculus app, it is a must install if you want to try your hands on Gear VR headset.
A section of users in Reddit stated that the deleting the app from the Smartphone resolved the issue. However Oculus accepted the issue and confirmed that the issue has been resolved.
“We recently pushed an update to the Oculus app that inadvertently caused some people to experience phone battery drain. The team has issued a fix that prompts people to update the Oculus software when they open the Oculus app. If they do not see the prompt, then the phone has been automatically updated and no further action is needed.”
