Amazon Alexa gets an interesting ‘Answer Update’ feature

Amazon Alexa Answer Update

Amazon wants to make the Alexa even smarter. That’s what the latest features says so. ‘Answer Update’ as named by the company will let the users to be notified when the voice assistant learns the answer to question it did not know earlier. In general, when the Alexa fails to reply any question, it says, “I don’t know, but I am always learning”. Anyways, with this latest Answer Update feature, the users will be able to get the answers later when Alexa finally finds it.

According to the Voicebox, the company will be rolling out this feature on the Alexa devices in the next week. As mentioned above, the old Alexa would reply with sentences such as “Sorry, I didn’t understand the question,” or “I cannot find the answer to the question I heard.” Once the update is available in any Alexa device, it would supposedly reply, “Okay, if you ask me a question and I don’t know the answer, but I find out later, I’ll notify you.”

A spokesperson from the Alexa told Techcrunch recently,

“The Alexa service is getting smarter every day, and Answer Updates is just another way we’re continuing to expand Alexa’s Knowledge Graph.”

With the introduction of Answer Update in Alexa and increasing its knowledge graph, the company is very clearly trying to be better than Google Home. To check if your Alexa device has received the update, all you have do is just say, “Alexa, turn on Answer Update.”
