The best part of using an offline map is when a new connection is found, the app will automatically switch to its online version thereby allowing the users to access the live traffic updates in the preferred route. Download a map on an Android device to use offline

Step 1: Open the Google Maps app.

Step 2: You should be connected to the internet and signed in to Google Maps.

Step 3: Using the search box search for a place that needs to be downloaded offline.

Step 4: Once the location appears on the Map, tap the name or address of the place at the bottom and click on Download. If you have searched for a place like a restaurant, you need to first tap on ‘More’ and then click on Download offline map.

Step 1: Open the Google Maps app.

Step 2: You should be connected to the internet and signed in to Google Maps.

Step 3: Using the search box search for a place that needs to be downloaded offline.

Step 4: Once the location appears on the Map, tap the name or address of the place at the bottom and click on Download Offline Map.

Once, the Google Map is downloaded you can use it just like you normally would. Now, Google Maps will use your offline maps to give you directions in case your Internet connection is slow or absent.
