Last year they introduced a new app, Snap Map by Snapchat that helps you to meet your friends in real life by sharing the current location. Now, Snapchat chat has introduced Explore on Snap Map for its user, which make it is easier to find friends who are roaming around at places without your knowledge.
The Explore will update automatically when friends fly someplace new, take a road trip, visiting a landmark or attend a big festival, and more. To start a conversation you need to just do a single tap. Through this Explore on Snap Map you will also get updates for other moments like breaking news, events, and trends. Basically, it is like a tour guide to what’s happening on your Snap Map.
However, the Explore on Snap Map will only include updates from the friends who are sharing their location with you on Snap Map. As, sharing your location on Snap Map is opt-in. So, if you are in Ghost mode or have never visited Snap Map before, your friends will not be able to see your location.
Recently, few months back Snapchat new filters were introduced, to identify what’s in your photo to recommend graphics such as stickers or borders to append on your posts. Snapchat is seriously hoping to win more number of users through initiatives like this. It is one of the platforms that contains exciting user content. So we can rate this move by the company as a smart one.
The Snap Map Explorer feature is rolling out globally over the next few weeks for both Android and iOS users. You need to just tap ‘New Updates’ to get started.
