In a move to be on par with the Reliance Jio, the Idea Cellular has updated its current Rs 309 prepaid plan with 1.5 GB per day. The pack which comes with a validity of 28 days provides unlimited roaming, STD and local calls besides the free SMS daily. When this plan was initially introduced, the data limit was only 1 GB per day.

For the Idea Subscribers who’d choose this plan, they will get 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week for outgoing calls. After this limit, the users will have to pay one paisa per second. The free SMS count will also be around 100 per day. Post the limit, the subscribers will be charged Rs 1 per local SMS.

On the other hand, the Reliance Jio is providing around 49 days of validity with 1 GB data limit for the same price. This subscription of Jio is bundled with JioMusic, JioTV, and other Jio apps besides free unlimited national and local calls.

The users of the Airtel network also get to enjoy the similar benefits at a price of Rs 349. And for the Airtel users, the daily data limit is capped at Rs 2 GB per day in addition to the unlimited STD and local calls and 100 free SMS per day for 28 days. The Vodafone users will have to spend around Rs 348 to get the same benefits.

One most note that this is not the first time that Idea is making such a move to compete with other leading telecom operators like Jio in the country. Earlier in this month, the Idea revised its Rs 398 pack to provide 1 GB data with a validity of 70 days.
