Are you aware of the Gmail Limitations?

gmail limitations joey reaction

Almost everyone in the world uses the Gmail by Google as their email application. In normal cases, nobody exceeds the limit and the only limit we all know in common is the size limit of the attachments on Gmail. But, it turns out that there are several other limits as well. For instance, let’s say if you are sending emails to multiple users, after a certain limit the Gmail will restrict you from sending emails anymore on the same day. These Gmail limitations are followed by the Google in Gmail to ensure the safety of the online usage.

If you want to know about the limitations of Gmail in detail, you are at the right place right now. Because here in this post, we are going to talk about every such limitation on Gmail.

Sending and Receiving Limits on Gmail

  • You cannot send an email to more than 500 recipients.
  • At the same time, you will also not be able to send more than 500 emails per day.
  • Anyways, this block is only impermanent and you can start sending emails again in 24 hours.

Limits in GSuite

Just like how Microsoft has Office 365, the Google has GSuite. Though it is used by organizations, the GSuite is still restricted by a number. But you will not have to worry as the number is quite a generous one. Any GSuite user can send 60 emails per minute, 3600 emails per hour and 86400 emails per day.

Limit on Attachments in Gmail

You don’t really need an introduction for this as you might have faced the limit barrier while attaching documents at least once on Gmail. Even though you had faced this issue, I am pretty sure that you are unclear about the exact rules that have to be followed while attaching documents. Do not worry, listed below are the major attachment constraints:

  • One can send an attachment with up to 25 MB with a regular Gmail account.
  • Say if you are adding multiple attachments, you must then make sure the total size of all the attachments doesn’t exceed the 25 MB limit.
  • In case if you still want to add a file that is more than 25 MB in size, the Gmail will automatically provide a Google Drive link in the email to let you add the attachment on Google Drive and then send its link to your contacts.
  • The Google Drive allows you to attach a file as large as 10 GB in size. And again, it depends on the amount of space left in your Google Drive.

These limitations on Gmail shouldn’t really bother you in the normal cases. In the worst cases, if your demand is more, you can choose the alternatives such as Google Groups to spread the message across several people or Google Drive to attach larger files.
