Apple released a security update for Mac users to fix the major security flaw

We had earlier reported that the Mac devices running on the latest High Sierra has a very huge security flaw. Apple is now rolling out a major security update for the Mac users and if you are one of them, please go ahead and update your Mac device right now. Because it fixes the very important security vulnerability which will let anyone to login to your Mac gadget without any password.

To install the update, you will have to launch the Mac App Store and go to “Updates” tab. The most exciting thing about this update is that its release notes goes like “install this update as soon as possible”. The company has been working for the past few days to fix this issue as early as possible. But the Apple should have taken the necessary measures to avoid this embarrassment in the first place.

One can access this bug very easily by going to preferences and then entering any of the panels which has a lock in the lower left-hand corner. In general, you will be prompted to enter the username and password to proceed further. But, instead of following the regular process, you can just enter the username as “root” and say “TADA” in your mind, you will see that you have proceeded to the next step.

Apple announced the statement mentioned below on how it has addressed the issue:

Security is a top priority for every Apple product, and regrettably we stumbled with this release of macOS.

When our security engineers became aware of the issue Tuesday afternoon, we immediately began working on an update that closes the security hole. This morning, as of 8:00 a.m., the update is available for download, and starting later today it will be automatically installed on all systems running the latest version (10.13.1) of macOS High Sierra.

We greatly regret this error and we apologize to all Mac users, both for releasing with this vulnerability and for the concern it has caused. Our customers deserve better. We are auditing our development processes to help prevent this from happening again.
