Google is all over the news for the past couple of days, all thanks to the announcements of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones at San Francisco recently. In the wake of all these happening events, the company silently launched its Google Assistant app on the PlayStore. This doesn’t mean that the Google Assistant will be available for download on all the tablets and smartphones. Once installed, it will work as just how the home button works to launch the Google Assistant.

If you would notice the description of the Google Assistant application on Android, it says that the app is compatible only with certain smartphones. This way, you can also know whether your mobile or tablet has everything enough to support the Google Assistant or not.

The Google Assistant app provides another way to launch the Assistant that’s already available on your phone. It allows you to quickly access your Google Assistant with one tap. You can still access your Assistant by pressing and holding down your home button or by simply saying, “Ok Google”.

Our view on Google Assistant App

The introduction of the Google Assistant has taken the machine learning and artificial intelligence to another level. Unfortunately, it requires Android Nougat and the higher version of Android for you to use this voice assistant. Although there are several compatible smartphones out there, some of you might have still not used installed the Google Assistant. This app is a wake-up call for every such user.
