Samsung Galaxy S8+ with 6.2-inch display, Snapdragon 835, fingerprint and Iris Sensors announced

As promised, Samsung announced the company’s latest high-end smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S8+ in this week. Let us have a detailed look at its specifications.

Display

The smartphone sports a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display at a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels with 529 ppi pixel density and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Platform

It is powered by Snapdragon 835 octa core processor for the US models and Exynos 8895 Octa core processor for few other markets and runs on TouchWiz UI which is based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box.

Storage

The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory which can be expanded using microSD card.

Camera

The mobile has 12-megapixel primary camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.55″ sensor size, OIS, 1.4µm pixel size and 8-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/3.6″ sensor size, 1.22µm pixel size, 80-degree wide-angle lens.

Connectivity and Sensors

The mobile is equipped with fingerprint, heart rate, gyro, accelerometer and Iris sensors besides supporting 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST connectivity features.

Battery and other details

Galaxy S8+ is packed with 3500mAh battery with fast charging support both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging and weighs 173 grams with 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1 mm size measurements.

Price and Availability

Samsung Galaxy S8+ will be available in Maple Gold, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue, Orchid Gray and Midnight Black colors at a price of $850 (Rs. 55,140 approx.). The pre-order of the smartphone has already begun and will go on sale from April 21.
