HP is coming with a new rugged convertible laptop, HP ProBook x360 Education Edition that is aimed at the students. 

The laptop sports an 11.6-inch display at a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It is powered by Pentium N4200 or Intel Celeron N3350 processor. The device comes with an 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage space.

Although the laptop comes with an industrial rubber casing, it can be modified with an additional panel which is strengthened with Gorilla Glass 4 for extra durability. It is equipped with an inbuilt app, “Take a Test” which recreates the modern test taking procedure basically. It is used to create secure environment in which there won’t be any copy/paste function during online assessments or access to the files.

In the same manner, there is another app, “Set up School PCs” which will help them to set up any device easily in three steps without any dedicated IT support. It features a battery which will offer up to 11 hours of charge in single charge and supports MicroSD reader, Ethernet, headphone jack, 2 USB 3.0 ports and USB Type C.

HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition will be available at $329 (approx. Rs. 23,000) from December 16.

Microsoft said in an official blog post:

The device switches easily between four modes, and since students are constantly moving around with their computers, the ProBook x360 11 Education Edition is encased in hard, industrial rubber and its screens feature optional damage-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. HP engineers put the computer through its rigorous HP Total Test Process, which involved dropping hundreds of computers from an elevation of 29.5 inches (about the same height as an average school desk). Together with Windows 10, this device is an awesome option for students and teachers.
