Video calling in WhatsApp beta for Android rolled out

Video calling in WhatsApp

There is good news for all the WhatsApp users out there. The company is now rolling out the support for Video calling in the beta version of the app. It was first introduced back in May this year.

Hereafter, when you hit the call button, you will view two options, one for the audio call and the other for Video call. There are conditions though. The person with whom you are making the video call must have the same version of WhatsApp installed in their Smartphone. Say if the person whom you are calling has not installed the latest beta version of the WhatsApp, you will view, “Couldn’t place call. The person needs to update WhatsApp to receive video call”.

Our team tested the video calling on WhatsApp and it was cool. The user interface of the Video call is very simple and you will view the reverse camera app, message and speaker mute options at the bottom and the end call button at the center of the screen. Just like how the app asked for a feedback when the audio feature was rolled out, the app is now asking for the same for the Video calling feature.

As far as the video calling quality of the WhatsApp is concerned, we think that the app has the ability to compete with Google Duo, which was launched recently by Google for the video calling purposes.

Let us know whether you have been longing to have the video calling feature in WhatsApp. We’d love to hear about it in the comments section below.
