Facebook has become popular in the Virtual Reality world through its investments and ventures in Oculus. The company boasted a huge number of announcements during the third edition of Oculus Connect (OC3) by showing the plans it has put forward to evolve itself in the VR World. One of the most interesting plans among them is building the VR web.

All thanks to the Oculus Home and its app store, Oculus provides one of the best experiences in Virtual Reality and offers an easy and smooth path to discover and explore virtual reality experience. At OC3, the company revealed that it is working on a Virtual Reality Browser, Carmel by using ReactVR, a JavaScript framework. The company has revealed that the developer preview version of the browser will be available soon on any Oculus device (it means Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR at present). The social networking site also revealed the development of ‘’Santa Cruz prototype’, another type of VR headset.

Zuckerberg said during the event:

“Virtual reality is the perfect platform to put people first, because of presence. You feel like you’re really there, in another place, with people.”

Using Carmel browser, the users are expected to browse the web on their headset in a whole different manner and instantly play WebVR experiences. We will know what the browser is all about when the developer preview version of it is released in the near future. Would you like to browse web in Virtual Reality?
