Chrome Android apps pop up in the stable Chrome OS for the first time

Chrome Android apps

Google Chrome OS supporting Chrome Android apps is not a new thing. It all began when Google had announced in 2014 that it is working with a few selected partners to introduce certain apps to Chrome OS. And a few apps popped up later after the announcement, but it was convincing enough to draw the attention of the users. But, earlier this year Google revealed its plans to bring all the Android apps in Chrome OS.

According to Chrome Releases blog and the Chromium Projects page, Android apps are coming to the stable channel for Acer Chromebook R11 / C738T and Asus Chromebook Flip. The whole PlayStore will be available for use in these two devices. The company said that the update will be rolled out to these laptops over the next few days.

The support for Android apps should have been introduced long ago in the Chrome OS. However, it is sometimes better late than never. The time is still early to grab more users to its Chrome OS from Windows and Mac platforms. What do you think about the Android app support in Chrome OS?
