WhatsApp is updating its terms and policy

whatsapp voicemail and call back feature

WhatsApp has announced in the official blog that it is going to update its terms and privacy policy which also means the user data will be shared with parent company Facebook. Currently, WhatsApp has 1 billion active users worldwide along with over 100 million voice calls per day. With this announcement people are really worried that some of their most personal information that they share through chats could potentially be compromised. WhatsApp has promised that it won’t sell or share user number with advertisers, and the new change is meant only to help improve the ads on Facebook.

Now, there are two methods to opt out of the WhatsApp invasive new terms, the first one is for new user as it has to be done before you accept the messaging app’s new terms of service. While installing the software rather than clicking “agree”, you need to press the smaller “read more” option below and need to uncheck the box that reads “Share my WhatsApp account information with Facebook…”

The second method is for existing users who have still got 30 days to opt out. To perform this you need to open the WhatsApp setting menu, and then press the account tab. Under this tab you have to uncheck the box reading “Share my account info” to stop providing Facebook with your user data.

WhatsApp recently joined Facebook and rolled out many new features, like end-to-end encryption, WhatsApp video calling feature, and messaging tools like WhatsApp for web and desktop and document sharing feature. We hope that world most used messaging app will release more exciting feature to keep its user intact and happy.
