An Indian student built an Iron Man walking robot

Every avenger fan dreams about looking like Iron Man. Maybe not to fly like the superhero, at least to wear his suit. Well, Vimal Govind Manikandan, a final year Mechanical Engineering student at Calicut University, didn’t just dream about looking like the Iron Man, but also brought his dreams into reality. The student built a red robot suit that looks much like the one which Robert Downey Jr wears in the Marvel movies.

The robot skeleton weighs around 100 kilograms and can lift up to 150 kilograms of weight with much ease. It is also backed up with pressurized air chambers that are powered by a battery. The robot is named as Abhijitha Jikumar. It looks like the suit is very heavy though. We can expect Mr Vimal to add more enhancements such as lifting more weight in the further upgrades. The most exciting thing about this Iron Man suit is that it costed Vimal only around $750 to build it. Vimal also said that his team is working on making the suit much easier to control.
