Microsoft announced that it has launched a new app for Sharepoint in iOS platform. For those of you who are not aware of Sharepoint, Organizations use Microsoft SharePoint to create websites. Several IT corporations use the software as a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information from almost any device.
All these days, you just needed a browser to use and access Sharepoint. Now that an app for iOS users is available, you will not have to rely only on Chrome, Internet Explorer or Firefox anymore. Microsoft says that the app will be available on Android and Windows platforms as well very soon. So, the most popular intranet platform will be in your pocket very soon.
The SharePoint iOS app contains a tab that will allow you to visit the frequent SharePoint sites. You can not only view the recent activity and files but also access the pages, lists, files and other content on those destinations.
The mobile app also works with the other Microsoft apps in the Smartphone. Say if you try to open an office document in the app, the corresponding mobile app will be opened. It also has a Search feature that will let you to locate resources by filtering the keywords.
