Twitter will allow more than 140 characters for certain tweets

In the beginning of this year, there were rumors that the Twitter would expand its character limit to 10000 characters. Keeping all such rumors to an end, the CEO of the company Jack Dorsey had announced that the social networking platform would stick to the traditional 140 character limit. However, reports are now emerging that Twitter will allow more than 140 characters for certain tweets.

This is how it works. The social networking platform will not count when you add “@names”. The media attachments such as Quote Tweets, Polls, Videos, GIFs and photos will not occupy the space from your character limit. Twitter will also let the users to Quote and Retweet a tweet themselves. And not just that, any tweet that starts with a username will go to all of the followers. Besides that, you can also retweet a reply in case if you want all of your follower to see it.

The company said that the changes will take place in the coming months.

We really liked the changes and are really looking forward to it. However, let us know your views on the upcoming changes in Twitter in the comments section below. We would love to hear from you.
