The original Amazon Echo is priced at $179.99 at Amazon website.
For those of you, who are not aware of Amazon Echo, it is an artificial intelligence gadget from the family of Amazon, is operated using voice commands. It responds to the name “Alexa” and this word is used to wake the device for operations like setting alarm, playing music, listening audio-books, creating To-do-lists and streaming podcasts. The device also provides updates on weather, traffic and the other real time information. The best part of Echo is that it lets you to control the light and other appliances besides allowing you to create shopping lists on Amazon.com.
Although Amazon Echo provides a lot of options with wide range of possibilities to control everything by voice, it lacks portability. As it is cylindrical in shape and 9.25 inch tall, you cannot carry it everywhere you go. But, the Amazon Echo should fit just fine on your desk or shelf. It measures only 1.5 by 3.3 inches in height and width that weigh only 8.8 ounces. It has a rubber padding on the bottom that keeps it safe from sliding around.
The conclusion is that the Amazon Echo Dot has nearly same feature as Amazon Echo for half the price. So, it really opens the market for this miniature version of Amazon Echo and with the current price gives competition to the similar product in the market.
