Dell announced its XPS 13 Developer Edition laptop that is based on Ubuntu at an immense price of $1,549.99 ( Rs. 1,03,940 approximately). The laptop runs on Ubuntu Linux 14.04 Service Pack 1.

The company has not disclosed the details regarding the availability of the laptop yet. However, it revealed that the mobile workstations such as Precision 7710, Precision 7510, Precision 3510 and Precision 5510 will come with Ubuntu options.

Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition are going to be available in three different variants depending on the inbuilt storage configurations and different RAMs. It comes with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB Hard Drive, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage and 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD storage. Laptops with 16 GB RAM variants are priced at $2,349.99 (Rs. 1,57,533 approximately) and $1,949.99 (Rs. 1,30,696 approximately) respectively.

The laptop sports a 13.3-inch QHD+ Infinity Edge touch display at a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Iris Graphics 540 GPU. It has a 4-cell battery and supports Ethernet, HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort 1.2 Video Output, Thunderbolt 3, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and Micro USB 3.0.
