Google releases developer preview images of Android N

The developer preview images of Android N was released by Google recently. Many techies took it as a surprise as the Google I/O event this year is only a few weeks away in the month of May.

Android N is said to add many new features such as TV recording, Direct Boot, Background Optimizations, Data Saver, Notifications Enhancement and Multi-Window support. The developer preview of Android N is now available for Pixel C, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6. The company also launched a new Android Beta program for the developers to install the latest beta version of Android N through OTA update.

Many experts are expecting Android N to be named as Nutella. However, there is no any official word from the company yet. Therefore, we will have to wait till the Google I/O event where the company is expected to reveal the name and other details of the Android N.

Multi Window Support in Android N will allow two apps to run side-by-side on the screen at the same time. When you run two apps at the same time, the dividing line in between the apps can be used to make one app smaller and the other larger.

Enhancements in Notifications is the most exciting feature in Android N after Multi-Window support. Users will be able to perform certain simple actions through Notifications window without having to open the app. At the same time, Android N is going to be packed with Data Saver that will control background apps from using the data.

Other important features in Android Call Screening, Number blocking, TV Recording, Locales and Languages, Direct boot, Doze on the go and Project Svelte.
